The Snapfish Guide to Creating Amazing Wedding Invitations

Step 1: Select colors that suit your wedding theme. Use your wedding color scheme as inspiration for your invitation and other stationery. Play with bold accents or rich earthy colors to add a pop of excitement. Balance your design with neutral shades for a cohesive look. Our pre-defined search filters make it easy to find designs with your chosen colors.

Step 2: Choose a wedding invitation design. Opt for a simple design that stands the test of time. You can customize it by adding rounded corners, changing the font, or rearranging the elements on the card. Once you've settled on a design, apply it to all your stationery, including RSVP cards, menus, place cards, and thank you notes. Use our internal search engine to find all other design instances.

Step 3: Customize the back with important details. Don't forget to personalize the reverse side of your wedding invitation with crucial information like directions, parking, and itinerary. You can also include a link to your wedding list or ask guests for song requests. Let your creativity shine!

When Should You Send Out Your Invitations?

Usually, it's customary to send "Save The Date" or "Wedding Announcement" cards before sending formal invitations. If you have a 12-month timeline, we recommend sending the wedding invitations two months prior to the big day. For destination weddings or guests traveling long distances, send "Save The Date" cards 8-12 months in advance. If you have a shorter engagement, send out your invitations as soon as possible, ideally two months before. Make sure to have your wedding color scheme and design ready to go!
