Are you a Disney World fireworks enthusiast like me? The mesmerizing combination of desserts and Disney fireworks is simply irresistible. That's where Disney Dessert Parties come in. But the big question is, are they worth the money?

For many Disney theme park fans, myself included, the nightly fireworks displays at Walt Disney World are the highlight of their Disney Day. These visually stunning displays, accompanied by perfectly choreographed music, evoke strong emotions. However, finding the perfect spot to watch the fireworks can be a challenge. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with thousands of sweaty strangers for several hours is not the most comfortable experience.

But fear not! Disney has a solution: the Fireworks Dessert Party. These parties offer exclusive access to a protected viewing area and a delightful buffet of desserts, cheeses, and beverages. However, it's important to note that the Disney Dessert Parties come at a cost, and they are not considered an "economy" option.

What is a Disney Dessert Party?

Disney Dessert Parties are semi-private events that grant you access to a dedicated fireworks viewing area. Your ticket includes 45 minutes to an hour of indulging in a delectable buffet and access to the protected viewing area. It's a stress-free way to enjoy the fireworks without the hassle of finding a perfect spot among the crowded park.

The Different Options and Costs

Currently, Disney offers three types of Disney Dessert Parties at Disney's Magic Kingdom for the Happily Ever After evening fireworks shows.

1. Pre-Party

The Pre-Party begins with a check-in at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Once you receive your wristband, you'll be directed to the upper level of the restaurant, where you'll find the dessert buffet and beverage stations. About 30 minutes before the fireworks start, cast members will guide you to the designated viewing area in the Plaza Garden.

The Pre-Party costs $99 per adult (ages 10+) and $59 per child (ages 3-9).

2. Post-Party

Similar to the Pre-Party, the Post-Party starts with a check-in at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. You'll watch the fireworks first and then enjoy the dessert buffet after the show. After the fireworks display, cast members will guide you back to the restaurant for the Post-Party, where you can indulge in desserts and beverages for approximately 45 minutes.

The Post-Party also costs $99 per adult (ages 10+) and $59 per child (ages 3-9).

3. Seats and Sweets

The Seats and Sweets Dessert Party offers a unique experience where you can remain seated during the fireworks show. After check-in at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, you'll be guided to your assigned table on the patio area. From there, you can enjoy the dessert buffet and beverage stations while watching the fireworks comfortably.

The Seats and Sweets Dessert Party costs $114 per adult (ages 10+) and $69 per child (ages 3-9).

Is a Disney Dessert Party Worth the Cost?

The answer to this question depends on your budget and personal preferences. The price range of $100-$150 per person for 1 hour of food, beverages, and entertainment may seem steep. However, if you are a Disney fireworks enthusiast like me, the experience can be well worth it.

Attending a Disney Dessert Party provides several advantages. Firstly, you don't have to spend hours staking out a spot for the fireworks. Secondly, the reserved viewing areas ensure a more comfortable and less crowded experience. Lastly, the delightful dessert buffet and beverage stations offer a delectable variety of treats that would otherwise be quite expensive to enjoy separately within the park.

The Bottom Line

If you can afford to splurge on a Magic Kingdom Dessert Party, I highly recommend it. The luxury of having a seat and relaxation time before and during the fireworks enhances the overall experience. Remember to plan your party for the end of your trip to fully appreciate the extra sitting time.

It's also important to note that reservations for Disney Dessert Parties fill up quickly, so make sure to book as early as possible. And don't forget to come with an empty stomach to fully enjoy the delectable desserts and beverages on offer.
