Headpiece 101—What Headpiece Should You Wear?

If you haven't visited our Accessories Department at our flagship salon, you might be missing out on over 25 jewelry, headpiece, shoe, and veil designers, offering hundreds of different ways to accessorize on your wedding day. But where do you start? We've narrowed it down to the 7 different ways you can accessorize your bridal hairstyle. Now it's just a matter of finding the perfect look for you!

Veil

Let's begin with the veil. If you're planning to wear a veil down the aisle, the first step is to choose a style that matches your personality and complements your wedding dress. Consider factors like color (ivory vs. white) and fabric (lace vs. tulle). At Kleinfeld, we offer a variety of lengths, including cathedral, chapel, elbow, and fingertip, as well as blushers, cage veils, mantillas, and two-tier varieties. Don't worry if it sounds overwhelming; our accessories consultants will guide you in choosing the right veil for you.

Headband

A headband is a structured piece that sits behind your ear and only goes halfway around your head. It's an excellent option if you plan to wear your hair down, as it can be easily hidden under your hair, showcasing only the embellished part.

Halo

Similar in appearance to a headband, a halo goes completely around the head instead of being tucked behind your ears. Halos have an angelic, ethereal, bohemian feel to them and come in various widths and metals, adorned with different types of crystals and flowers. They offer a romantic touch to your bridal look.

Comb

Combs come in different sizes, from small to large, offering versatility in styling. You can place one behind your ear, double up to pull your hair back on both sides, or use it as an accent for your updo.

Pin

Hair pins are perfect for adding a bit of sparkle to your look without overpowering your face or wedding dress. They come in sets or as individual pieces, allowing you to customize your style.

Crown

For a regal and stately feel, a crown sits on top of your head, adorned with gems and crystals all around. It's an excellent choice for a black or white tie wedding, adding an air of elegance to your overall look.

Tiara

Tiaras also sit on top of your head but have gems and crystals situated towards the front of the headpiece. They offer a romantic, royal feeling similar to a crown but are lighter and more versatile, suitable for a variety of wedding themes.

Vine

A vine is a malleable headpiece usually made of thin metal, allowing you to shape it in any way you like. Whether you want to wear it in a halo style, like a headband, or wrap it around your bun, there are countless options for this versatile piece.
