Our Candyland Christmas Decorations:

The first thing to consider when creating your Candyland Christmas is flocking your tree. The snow effect adds a touch of fantasy that screams scrumptious! You can easily achieve this by using spray snow, which is conveniently available on Amazon. Alternatively, you can create a thick paste out of ivory snow and water for a tried and true "flocking" effect.

Candy Ornaments You Can Make

Lollipop Ornaments

To make lollipop ornaments, use disk-shaped Styrofoam. We had three different kinds of lollipops on our tree.

Small Candy Lollipop

Place small candies into a large bowl (we found colored Styrofoam balls that resembled candy). Spread the disk with ordinary white glue, then dip it into the candies and let it dry. Repeat the process on the other side if necessary. Insert a wooden dowel as the lollipop stick. Lightly spray with glitter spray and let it dry.

Rope Lollipop Ornament

For this ornament, use rope-style candy found at the dollar store. Let the candy dry out a little so it's not sticky and slightly stiff. Create a coil with the rope using a glue gun, gluing as you go. Add more ropes until you achieve your desired size. This step may require an extra hand, so be careful with the glue gun! Insert a wooden dowel for the stick. If needed, sharpen the stick end slightly with a pair of scissors. Allow it to dry overnight to let the candy harden. Finally, lightly spray with glitter spray.

Peppermint Candy Lollipop Ornaments

Using an artist brush and ordinary craft paint, freehand the swirls of a peppermint candy onto a foam disk. Practice on a piece of cardboard first or refer to a photo or an actual candy for guidance. Make sure there is plenty of paint on the brush for smooth lines. Allow it to dry, insert a wooden dowel for the stick, and wrap it with clear cellophane. Tie it with a ribbon.

Here's the result! The cellophane wrapper completes the lollipop's realistic look.

Candy Christmas Ornament

Both the gumball and marshmallow Candyland decorations are made simply with a glue gun. Use a twisted piece of floral wire as a hanger. Insert the hanger into the foam and add a dab of hot glue to secure it. Then, cover the Styrofoam ball with candies using the glue gun. For the gumball ornament, we applied glitter spray again.
