Witches are polishing their broomsticks and vampires are dusting off their cloaks - Halloween party season is just around the corner! I can already hear the screams and wails, and it's not from the ghosts and ghouls, but from the parents who are super stressed trying to throw a Spooktacular Kids Halloween party while keeping their sanity and not breaking the bank!

Throwing a kids Halloween party may seem like an enormous and expensive task, but fear not! I have developed a foolproof formula over the years that allows me to throw a spooktacular party with little stress, minimal preparation, and on a budget. Happy days indeed!

Kid Led Halloween Party!

I have tried Halloween parties where I prepped all the decorations and food myself, and let me tell you, I was exhausted before the guests even arrived! Entertaining 20 or so children for the entire duration of the party was too much for me. That's when I decided to switch things around, and I haven't looked back since!

For an easy Halloween party, I now lay out activity tables with supplies to make simple Halloween food and decorations. During the first half of the party, I let the kids get busy creating tasty Halloween treats and spooky decorations, moving from table to table as they go.

In the middle of the party, we end the kid-led activities and all come together to eat the food they've made and admire their decorations. We then finish off with some simple party games that we can all play together.

This hands-on kid-led party approach has proved to work really well across different age ranges, with younger kids' parents acting as helping hands. It keeps my workload to a minimum and keeps the kids busy and engaged throughout the party.

If you fancy giving this easy party idea a go, I have included some simple Halloween Decorations, Food, and Party Games to get you started.

Easy Halloween Decorations Kids Can Make

Below, you'll find nine of my favorite Halloween party craft activities that are all really simple and require only a few supplies. I usually leave one completed craft on the table with the supplies and let the older kids get stuck in. If your party age range is young, ask some other parents to stay and help. It's always good to have a few extra pairs of hands available for blowing up balloons and tying knots.

Easy Halloween Food Kids Can Help To Make

One of the most exciting things about any party celebration is the food! Kids will love getting hands-on and helping create some spooky Halloween treats to share. The more they do themselves, the less work for you!

It's always useful to have a few adults on hand to help the kids when needed. I've found that most parents enjoy joining in the fun too. And if you want to be the hostess with the mostest, why not have a bottle of wine and some delicious Hotel Chocolat's Halloween Chocolates on hand for your grown-up helpers too?
