To me, one of the best parts of Spring is the longer days and more sunshine. However, living on the west coast means we experience temperamental weather, with rain and sun quickly alternating. Nevertheless, we try to embrace the sunny moments as much as possible. And when Spring arrives, I'm always eager to freshen up our front porch, including adding a new DIY spring wreath to our door!

One of my favorite things about crafting and DIY projects is taking inexpensive supplies and materials and creating high-end looking pieces. For example, I recently transformed thrift store vases into stylish decor and turned a second-hand dining table into a stunning piece. Today, I want to share with you a super easy DIY spring wreath that has a high-end feel to it, using mainly dollar store florals. This full floral DIY spring wreath is the perfect front door accessory for our spring front porch decor.

Spring Wreath DIY Tips:

To make a full floral wreath, you can choose any color scheme that suits your style. It's simply a matter of personal preference. For this project, I went with a pink and white theme, but you could opt for bright and multi-colored or even all white. It's important to have a mix of textures, tones, and types of florals. I used longer branching florals like cherry blossoms and dogwoods, berry style branches, and higher florals like tulips and peonies.

Materials:

  • Grapevine wreath form (available at Walmart)
  • 1-2 branches each of 3-4 types of greenery
  • 1-2 branches or bunches of 4-5 types of flowers
  • Glue gun and hot glue sticks
  • Wire snippers to cut faux floral branches

How to Make this DIY Spring Wreath:

  1. Gather greenery stems from your collection or purchase them from a local Dollar store or craft store.
  2. Cut the greenery and floral branches into smaller sections using wire cutters.
  3. Prepare a grapevine wreath form, a glue gun, and hot glue.
  4. Begin adding the greenery branches by weaving them underneath the grapevine form to hold them in place.
  5. Layer on the floral sections, starting with longer branches like dogwood and cherry blossoms.
  6. Space out the berry sections and then add the tulips and peonies.
  7. Secure any loose sections with hot glue.

I love how the soft green-grey foliage pairs with the pink florals. This wreath gives off an expensive vibe, but if I hadn't already owned the materials, it would have cost me around $30-35 (Canadian) to make. Considering the price of ready-made full floral wreaths, this DIY project is incredibly affordable. For example, a similar wreath from Balsam Hill retails for $199 USD!

Now, take a look at my full floral DIY spring wreath. It's just as beautiful and costs a fraction of the price!
