Creating Your DIY Wedding Invitations

To get started, you'll need some supplies, including cardstock, paper doilies, ribbon or twine, a Tombow adhesive roller, a .4 fine tip black Cricut pen, a light grip cutting mat, and, of course, the Cricut Explore Air machine.

Step 1: Designing Your Invitations

First, decide on the size of your invitations. You can use the Cricut Design Space to create a 5" x 8" rectangle or any other dimensions you prefer. Duplicate the rectangle to create multiple invitations per page.

Step 2: Designing the Text

Next, design the actual text of your invitations in Word. Draw a text box and adjust the size to 7.5" tall by 4.5" wide. Choose your preferred fonts and write up the invitation details. Rotate the text box 90° for a horizontal layout.

Step 3: Printing and Cutting

Print out the invitations from Word. In the Cricut Design Space, add an 8.5" x 11" rectangle and a 7.5" x 4.5" rectangle. Duplicate the smaller rectangle to match the number of invitations. Fit the smaller rectangles into the larger one, aligning them with your Word document.

Step 4: Putting It All Together

Use a Tombow adhesive roller or double-sided tape to attach the printed invitation to the background. Add a heart shape and personalize it with the bride and groom's initials. Duplicate the hearts and cut them using the Cricut machine. Fold a paper doily around the invitation and attach the heart with ribbon or twine.

And voila! You have stunning, customized invitations that cost less than $.25 each.
